You're Not Lost. You're in the In-Between.

What if the uncertainty you're feeling isn't a sign that something is wrong, but an invitation to something more?

There comes a time in life when everything looks perfectly fine from the outside. You've worked hard. You've built a life. You've fulfilled responsibilities, navigated challenges, celebrated accomplishments, and collected enough life experience to write a book.

And yet, something feels different.

The things that once motivated you don't quite have the same appeal. The roles that once defined you don't tell the whole story anymore. You may even find yourself wondering, 'Is this all there is?'

Not because you're ungrateful.

Not because your life hasn't been good.

But because somewhere inside, you sense there's more.

Welcome to the in-between.

When the Life You Know No Longer Fits

I know this season because I've lived it.

For 35 years, I built a successful career in sales leadership. I knew what I did, who I was, and where I belonged.

Until I didn't.

When that chapter ended unexpectedly, I lost more than a position. I lost the identity I'd spent decades building. And for a while, I tried to figure out how to get back to the woman I'd been. What I didn't understand then was that I wasn't supposed to go back.

I was being invited forward.

That realization changed everything.

Maybe You're Not Supposed to Have It All Figured Out

We spend so much of our lives knowing what's expected of us. Build the career. Raise the family. Pay the bills. Meet the expectations. Be responsible. Keep moving.

And then one day, the familiar roadmap stops making sense.

Here's what I've come to believe:

The in-between isn't necessarily a place where you've lost your direction. It may be the place where you finally get to question whether that direction is still yours. That's a very different way of looking at uncertainty, isn't it?

Instead of asking, 'How do I get my old life back?'

What if we started asking, 'What is possible for me now?'

What If There's More of You to Discover?

One of the most surprising things about starting over in my 60s has been discovering that I'm not becoming someone entirely new. I'm uncovering more of the woman I've always been.

The gifts that came naturally. The things that brought me joy. The ways I made a difference without even recognizing their significance.

They were there all along.

And I began to wonder how much of our lives we spend becoming who we're expected to be, rather than recognizing who we were created to be.

Maybe the in-between gives us an opportunity to find out.

Not by throwing away everything we've lived, but by taking the wisdom, experience, and perspective we've gained and using them to create something meaningful.

That's what I call an Encore.

Not a repeat performance. A bold next chapter built from everything you've lived and everything you're still becoming.

Here's Where I'd Invite You to Begin

You don't need a five-year plan. You don't even need to know what your next chapter looks like. But I would encourage you to spend a few minutes with these three questions:

1. What no longer fits? Not necessarily what you need to leave, but what no longer feels aligned with who you're becoming.

2. What keeps asking for your attention? An interest, a dream, a possibility, or something you've repeatedly told yourself you'll pursue someday.

3. What is one small step you could take toward that possibility? Not a lifetime commitment. Just a step.

Don't rush your answers. Sometimes the most important discoveries begin with questions we've never given ourselves permission to ask.

You Don't Have to Navigate This Alone

I created Encore Life because I believe there's more available to us than simply settling into the life we've already built. There's more purpose to discover. More health to cultivate. More freedom to experience.

And I believe our age doesn't disqualify us from any of it.

If you're recognizing yourself in these words, I created a resource called 'Navigating the In-Between' to help you explore this season more deeply. It's a guided journey to help you name what has changed, recognize what's asking to be lived, and begin making your next step visible.

And if you're wondering whether it's too late to begin again, let me leave you with this:

You're not too old. You're not too late. And you are not finished becoming.

I got you.
